The district education office, which played a role in the improvement of secondary education of the secondary education of Meherpur district, started work in 1984, though it was shifted to the present building in 2005. The building is adjacent to the Meherpur High School ground and lies a vast area behind the Meherpur Women's College. The first floor of the vast building of three-storeyed wall surrounded by different types of fruit and flower plants, is designated for the Directorate of Education Engineering and second and third floor District Education Office. The building is known as the 'Education Building'. It is a modern building, in addition to the office room, there is a sophisticated computer lab (EMIS cell), a meeting room, and two clean houses (AC / nonac). District Education Office, in addition to its own manpower, also provides overall management and development of education through the upazila secondary education office. From the Meherpur bus station, the building is situated at the heart of the city, 1 / 2km away.
